Becoming a woodworker has been a journey of self discovery.  It started with a long time dream to learn to build boats.  I enrolled at the Wood Technology Center (WTC) in Seattle, WA.  I started out my first quarter without an inch of experience and the learning curve was huge.  I found myself at WTC, I found my people, and I found a profession that fit me.  I was inspired by my fellow students and Catie Chaplan, our lead teacher, to complete the Carpentry program. I loved it, to build a home is such a satisfying accomplishment!

I take any opportunity I can, to learn more about woodworking and building. If it’s a class at Ebanista, or volunteering with the Block Project or traveling across the country to Vermont for a tree house building course at Yestermorrow, I am drawn to the craft.

When I am not working, I am busy raising my kids. In my free time, I enjoy biking, running, sailing, skiing, woodworking, and reading.
